It is one of the most overlooked images in the TTE. The PSA allows for qualitative assessment of left ventricular (LV) function, and LV hypertrophy. It is also important in assessing right ventricular (RV) function, and assessing for RV pressure volume overload evidenced by a D-shaped LV, or flat interventricular septum.
